Ok, so they aren't all tigers anymore, but they are still all big cats! I have copies of National Geographic dating back to the early 70's, and in every copy I've read, I'm always awe inspired by the tigers. I wanted to try some close-up perspectives, to really get into the personality of the tiger. I think his eyes say the most.
This is the perfect animal for stained glass - cats - big cats. Their eyes mystify, and their lines are all unique like a fingerprint. Keep a close eye on this category for new works.
My newest is Tiger in the Sun, and what a wonderful stained glass design it is! I have used the lines in such a way as to suggest even the smallest details, like his whiskers. This is definitely a conversation piece.
Another new one is Mountain Lion. I know, I promise to come up with more intesting names as I go along. The glass for this one is my favorite - stipple. It is soft and velvety in texture, and looks fantastic in the finished panel.
Tiger's Forehead is a study of a tiger from a very close point of view. One of the most intriguing parts of the tiger, his stripes, and his eyes, all in one stained glass panel. The clairty and shocking view of the eyes is stunning.
My first Tiger design, this panel interprets the face of the tiger to you. Perhaps his glance to your right will make you les uneasy about his size and strength. What a gentle beast, right?
